Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychopathology

Welcome to the website of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychopathology!

Via our research, we aim to gain a better understanding of how cognitive biases, including their neural, physiological and behavioral correlates, contribute to the development and maintenance of disorders in the area of emotional psychopathology, such as anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression. To this end, we measure cognitive biases using various tasks and paradigms but also develop new tasks and paradigms. We are also active in the field of translational research and are working on the development of computerized, cognitive training procedures in order to improve and extend our therapeutic interventions via a mechanistically-focused approach.
