Annika Carina Ziereis

Annika studied Psychology at the University of Koblenz-Landau (B.Sc.) and at the University of Göttingen (M.Sc.).

Since October 2018, she has been a staff member in the Department of Cognition, Emotion and Behaviour at the Institute for Psychology at the University of Göttingen. She completed her doctorate in Behavior and Cognition and as a member of the  Research Training Group 2070 Understanding Social Relationships.

Current research interests

  • The processing of emotional expressions in real and artificial faces

  • The interaction of emotion and learning processes in face perception

  • Influences of positive emotional context on motor inhibition

  • The influence of immediate and acquired social and emotional salience on attentional processes

  • The neuronal integration of emotional stimuli from different sensory channels (especially audio-visual integration)
