Anne Schacht
Anne Schacht studied psychology at the Humboldt University in Berlin, where she completed her doctorate on emotion effects in language and face processing under Werner Sommer in 2008. For this research, she was awarded the 2009 Young Scholar Award of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Visiting professorships in Geneva, Potsdam, and Berlin followed. In 2010, she was appointed Junior Professor at the University of Göttingen, where she has been Full Professor of Affective Neuroscience and Psychophysiology since 2016. Her current research activities focus on cognition and behavior in social contexts and are an integral part of numerous collaborative initiatives such as the CRC 1528 Cognition of Interaction and the RTG 2070 Understanding Social Relationships at the University of Göttingen. Anne Schacht leads and coordinates the development and establishment of the Human Cognition and Behavior research center at the Göttingen Campus.
She is the spokesperson of the PhD program Behavior and Cognition and is involved as a mentor for young female scientists in various programs. In the last five years, she has been associate editor of prestigious international journals, member of the Expert Panel of the Research Foundation Flanders, on the program committees of two international conferences, and treasurer of the European Society for Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience. In addition to manuscripts for journals, her reviewing activities regularly include proposals for national and international third-party funders as well as evaluation, appointment and accreditation procedures for foreign universities and scientific institutions.
