Dr. Elisabeth Johanna Leehr

Research Interests

I am fascinated by neurobiological basic research of psychological processes, their modulation capability and the translation of these basic insights in psychological interventions. My work is focused on processes, like emotion regulation and inhibitory control, which are thought to be altered in mental disorders. My aim is to investigate the neuro-bio-behavioral basics of these processes and to find potential starting points for the development and optimization of targeted psychological interventions. I profit from a plethora of methods (eyetracking, electromyography, electroencephalography, magnetic resonance imaging, experimental psychopathology, diagnostic tools, as well as (epi-)genetics) in my research. My clinical work with patients guides my scientific work and encourages me to orient my research to the challenges of clinical practice.
